Community Guidelines
Our Mission
SaxaLit exists to put individuals back in control of their personal information. We believe privacy is a right, not a privilege, and that reclaiming your data from brokers who profit from it should be straightforward, not adversarial.
These guidelines reflect that mission. They describe how we expect users to engage with the Service and with the data brokers they contact through it.
Be Honest
- •Provide accurate personal information when submitting removal requests and appeals. False or misleading information undermines your request and may violate the data broker's terms or applicable law.
- •Do not impersonate another person or submit removal requests on behalf of someone else without their explicit authorization.
Be Respectful
- •Data broker employees are individuals doing their jobs. Appeal letters should be firm and factual — not hostile, threatening, or abusive.
- •Use the template appeal letters as intended: to assert your legal rights to data removal, not as a vehicle for harassment.
Act in Good Faith
- •Submit removal requests only for your own personal information.
- •Follow through on the removal process. If a broker responds with questions or verification steps, engage with them honestly.
- •Do not use the Service to submit frivolous or bad-faith requests designed to burden data brokers rather than achieve legitimate removal.
Respect the Platform
- •Use the Service for its intended purpose: managing your own privacy and data removal.
- •Do not attempt to circumvent plan limits, exploit the Service's features, or use automated tools to interact with the Service without permission.
- •Report bugs or security issues through our contact page rather than exploiting them.
What Happens When Guidelines Are Not Followed
We enforce these guidelines in accordance with our Acceptable Use Policy and Terms of Service. Enforcement may include warnings, feature restrictions, account suspension, or termination.
These Guidelines Evolve
As the SaxaLit community grows and the privacy landscape changes, we may update these guidelines. Material changes will be communicated through the Service.
