Why a private email address changes everything

Every data broker opt-out form asks for your email address. On the surface this is reasonable: they need somewhere to send a confirmation link. But when you type your real address into that form, you are handing a data broker one more piece of personal information about you — and a direct line to your inbox.

Data brokers share and sell their data. An email address you submit on an opt-out form today can appear in another broker's database tomorrow. You entered your information to be removed, and in doing so, you gave them something new.

Your real email address is also a cross-site identifier. It lets brokers connect your record on one site to your record on another. The more places your real email appears, the harder it becomes to fully disappear.

A privacy email address is a dedicated inbox that exists only to receive broker replies. It has no connection to your identity, your personal contacts, or your primary email account. When brokers respond to your opt-out request, they reply to this address — and anything they do with it afterward cannot reach you.

Saxalit gives every user a unique @saxalit.com address the moment they sign up. You use it on every opt-out form across every broker. Confirmation links and verification emails arrive in your Saxalit inbox, where you can read them, act on them, and track your progress — all without your real address ever entering the picture.

Because the same address works on every broker, you only have one thing to remember. And because it is not your real address, you can walk away from it completely if you ever choose to close your account.

Saxalit does not offer a username and password login. The only way to create an account is to sign in with your existing Google account.

This is a deliberate privacy decision. When you sign in with Google, Saxalit receives only two things from Google: your name and your Google account email address. We use your name to personalize your dashboard. We use your Google email only to identify your account — we never store it in a data broker-facing context or use it in any opt-out submission.

By using Google OAuth, we avoid building or maintaining a password database entirely. Passwords are a liability: they can be leaked, guessed, or reused from another breach. We chose to not have them.

Your Google email is separate from your Saxalit privacy email. The Google email stays inside Saxalit and is never shared. The privacy email is what goes out to brokers.

The short answer is: as little as possible.

We do not collect your address, your phone number, your date of birth, or any other personal details. We do not sell user data. We do not share your information with third parties except where required to operate the service (payment processing, email delivery).
